Network Teaming

euroNAS NAS software supports grouping of several physical networking controllers into one single local network controller. euroNAS teaming capability is supported for the most network adapters.

When teaming the network controllers, network group will automatically take over the TCP/IP settings of the first networking controller in the group.

Teaming of networking controllers can have different purposes :

- reaching higher networking throughput
- securing the network connection in case of network failure

euroNAS NAS software provides following features

Port Failover

This mode is switch independent and ensures server availability on the network
If one network port fails, traffic is automatically routed to the secondary network port.

Link Aggregation

This mode provides greater bandwidth.
euroNAS supports several teaming options for this mode.

Adaptive Load Balancing is switch independent and provides greater bandwidth for transmission only.

Load Balancing and IEEE 802.3ad Dynamic link aggregation (LACP) modes require switch that supports this functionality and provides greater bandwidth in both directions. If this 2 modes are used, it is recommended to use a static IP address.
